Compassionate Full-Time Nanny (27587)
Updated: Nov 5
Select Sitters is seeking a loving full-time nanny for a family in Wake Forest. The nanny will care for a busy, happy 2.5-year-old boy. The hours will be 7:30 am - 3:30pm Monday - Friday with a little flexibility needed when mom has a later meeting (will give advance notice). Mom is a teacher doing virtual academy from home with a year-round schedule, so there will be weeks off periodically, however, they are willing to pay for a full-time nanny who will be committed to their family alone given the current state of COVID. They are taking social distancing seriously as all family members have underlying health conditions that make them more vulnerable to COVID. They will expect their nanny to be an open and honest communicator who is taking the pandemic seriously and has a small bubble.
The nanny should be patient and gentle, providing a calm, structured environment. Nanny should also be playful, active, and engaging as their toddler is busy! Due to gross motor differences and delays, he explores his world and is able to be independent through the use of a wheelchair, and the nanny will need to facilitate transitions into and out of the chair. He has a lively and fun personality and is looking for a nanny who loves taking walks, answering his endless questions, playing trucks, reading, and playing play-dough. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience caring for children with special medical needs and will be eager to learn about how to best meet his specific needs. The family will provide adequate training (including 1-2 weeks of hands-on time with parents initially).
Other duties include baby's laundry, light housekeeping (putting away toys, loading the dishwasher), lunch prep, and clean-up. They would prefer a self-starter who is proactive about finding ways to help and keep their busy boy safe. The family will provide paid vacation and sick leave. They are looking for their new nanny to join them in early January.
