Versatile and Supportive Nanny (27713)

Select Sitters is seeking an experienced and loving nanny a family in Durham starting in July or August. The nanny will be responsible for care of a 5 month old girl. She is in a pretty simple routine and eats and naps well. The ideal candidate will be a reliable and organized caregiver, who is eager to engage their baby and contribute to their development and growth through active and age appropriate learning and play. They appreciate Montessori and Waldorf approaches, with the idea that the environment can support the child's learning, and hope for a nanny who can safely give their little one space and opportunities to explore!
Along with attentive and safety oriented care, the nanny will help with light housekeeping when time allows, including washing bottles, and food prep/clean up once she is eating solids. The family hopes for a nanny who is intuitive, flexible and able to keep a sense of calm in the home. They see their nanny as a partner and hope to establish great communication, mutual trust and respect.
The general schedule will be Monday and Tuesdays 7am-6pm and Wednesday, Thursdays and Fridays 7am-1pm. They do have some flexibility with their 2 longer days if requested by the nanny. They are willing to guarantee a minimum of 35 hours a week, paid time off, and paid holidays. They prefer that their nanny has received the Covid vaccine, and is following all CDC guidelines respectfully. They are hoping for their nanny to join their family no later than August 1st, however, would welcome someone who can start regular hours in mid-July or who is available part-time in July. They are hoping to start with a one year commitment through July 2022.
-3-5 years of professional childcare experience
-Experience caring for infants
-Knowledgeable about child development and infant care routines (feeding, transitioning to solids, diapering, safe sleep practices, etc)
-CPR/First Aid Certification
-Comfortable with family cat
